Spring 2020 Update

Hello friends and family,

David and I pray this email finds you well in the middle of a crazy season for our nation and the globe! Kansas City is under a mandatory quarantine for the next 30 days so we are hunkering down, as I’m sure many of you are as well. In some ways, this time and space has been a blessing as it has allowed us to focus more on finishing our house and preparing for our little guy to make his appearance in June, so we are thankful for that. There have certainly been downsides too: canceled travel, our missions base being closed to the public, etc. However, in all of this, we are trying to seize this opportunity for all the good it could produce!

Gabrielle: I mentioned in our previous update that I had taken on a discipleship role in the school. A week after I had sent that update, I also accepted a job as a worship coach for a team of ten students in the music program. As schools all across the nation began to shut down and move to an online format, our school followed suit. I have transitioned to instructing my students online. It’s a learning curve, for sure, but we are making it work! šŸ™‚

David: As Gabby said, we have had many changes on our base because of the quarantine in Kansas City. We recently sent all of our students and interns home, but I was fortunate to get to teach the interns a class on the Life of David the week before things escalated. It went really well and I received some very encouraging feedback from the class. Unfortunately, the weekly Bible study I facilitate has been suspended until further notice. I really do believe there is something in this season for all of us to take hold of and I’ve been grateful to enjoy a more extended time with the Lord in the mornings and more time with Gabby before the baby comes.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you need prayer for anything! We carry each of you in our hearts and are incredibly grateful for your continued love and support.

Much love,

David and Gabrielle
