Spring 2017 Update

Dear Friends and Family,

You are receiving this letter because you have a special place in our hearts and may have expressed interest in supporting our ministry. We are also grateful and encouraged for your desire to partner with us through prayer. Since getting married last May, we have been on an amazing journey with the Lord and thought a short update would provide a great window into the life of the new Malone family.

David: After living in Kansas City for almost two years, it has become clear that this is the Lord’s current assignment for my life. My gifts and passions have been flourishing like never before as I apply myself to the International House of Prayer community. God’s peace is upon the future as I answer the call to full-time ministry. I am currently involved in leadership, discipleship, and theological training from Asbury Theological Seminary through online courses and monthly intensives on the campus in Wilmore, KY.

While my original plan was to attend school full-time, after the spring semester, I am scaling back my class load to pursue practical ministry training at IHOP. In the summer, I will officially join IHOP-KC staff and will devote 24 hours each week to the prayer room and 24 hours to other ministry functions.

I am currently working with the IHOP ministry school as a discipleship coordinator alongside Gabrielle.  We oversee a group of students by facilitating weekly home gatherings, ministry outreach, and insuring they fulfill their requirements. I’ve also enjoyed working with the faculty to help build a new curriculum for the school.

Finally, I have been selected to be apart of a leadership development program led by our former University president who is now the senior pastor of the IHOP-KC church.

Gabrielle: Just a few months ago marked the seven-year anniversary of moving to Kansas City to join the music school and be a part of 24/7 prayer and worship. After graduating from the music school three years ago, I have worked continuously as a singer and musician in the Global Prayer Room. IHOP’s primary function is to exalt Jesus through night and day worship while praying for the church and souls to be saved, and it has been a privilege to serve the Lord in this capacity.

In addition to working as a worship leader in the house of prayer, I have disciplined dozens of young girls and been a part of multiple ministry trips throughout the United States. I have worked with the One Thing young adult internship for almost four years and have progressed to Senior Core Leader. As the Senior Core Leader, I have the opportunity of leading other staff members within the program and assisting in the leadership of OTI. I feel a deep sense of purpose in this work, as I feel called to ministry long-term. Like David, I am looking forward to this coming year.

Thank you: We cannot do this assignment without you. To be faithful, we need prayer and financial support from you. Gabrielle and I would ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with us on a monthly basis.
