| Hello and merry Christmas from the Malone family! We pray this letter finds each of you well this holiday season! As 2020 draws to a close, Gabby and I are so excited as we reflect on the Lord’s leadership throughout this past year. As I have stated in a previous update, I was serving our missions base in the business and finance department, utilizing my accounting degree. I have moved out of this position into our training school. It’s such a blessing to have a community that gives room for self discovery. Though I loved serving in the finance department, I found myself longing to be in a pastoral position. My new title is the Director of Student Mobilization. I’m currently responsible for training and equipping off-campus students. We have recently launched what we call the Global Classroom which combines the experience of the online and on-campus students. I’m using this technology advancement to build a brand-new initiative called Educational Partnerships. For example, we have twelve students from the same church in Indiana. They participate in our training school online while being connected to each other and serving in their local community. We want those not only in America but also in South Africa, Brazil, China and the Philippines to be able to engage with our Spiritual family without having to travel to our campus. I am also organizing and launching our student ministry trips this coming April. Our students will do missions in several states across the nation. We are working through the dynamics of COVID restrictions, but are finding ways to engage the world despite the new complex environment. This position gives me an outlet to operate with my business chip and my ministry gift. I am able to interface with leaders and pastors around the world while at the same time, shepherding and pastoring the next generation. The training I’ve received over the past 10 years has prepared me for this very moment of transition, giving me the right tools for success. Gabby and I feel so confident that the Lord has led us to this point! On top of becoming a new mom, Gabby is continuing her work in the pastoral department of our school. She has always been passionate about discipleship and loves being able to serve in this way. She has also been assisting me in my new role, as the task is very large! One of the biggest joys of 2020 of course is our little Owen. His eagerness to give a smile absolutely melts our hearts and we are so grateful to be his parents. In a year of much loss and change, the Lord has blessed us tremendously with this precious gift of life. We have much to be thankful for! Thank you to each of you for believing in us, loving us and for your continued support! David, Gabby & Owen |
